RAF Families Days Survey 2019

About this survey

Thank you for your interest in our survey which aims to gather anonymous information about some of the issues that RAF personnel and their families frequently report or areas from the Armed Forces Continuous  Attitude Survey (AFCAS) or Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS) that have received negative or poor responses.  Responses from individuals will not be identified and the survey has a routing plan based on responses that should take no longer than 5 minutes unless more detail to specific questions is offered.

Please fill in this survey as fully and honestly as you can.  Your completed survey will be treated in confidence and will be processed by the RAF Families Federation to create a climate report that can be used to investigate further trends and influence change within the RAF Chain of Command and the Ministry of Defence.

Who can take part?

We would like you to take part if you are a currently Serving (Regular or Reserve) RAF service person or if you are a spouse/civil partner of a serving person.
Do I have to take part?

No, participation is entirely voluntary. You should only participate if you want to, and choosing to take part in the research (or not) will have no impact on the military career of the Serving Person in your family. However, by giving your views you will be helping us to make positive changes for RAF families.
Who will see my responses?

All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and are completely anonymous.  Your individual responses will only be seen by selected individuals within the RAF Families Federation involved in the project, however some individual anonymous anecdotal data may be quoted in future RAF families Federation reports.
Who should I contact for further information?

If you have any questions about the survey, or require more information about this study, please contact Richard Coleman, Evidence and Issues Manager: by email (
richard.coleman@raf-ff.org.uk).
